      Summary: We collect only what's necessary to provide Keptwell. Your memories belong to you. We never sell your data. Your family listens for free.
    

1. Information We Collect

Account Information:

Email address (for login and account recovery)
Password (encrypted, we cannot see it)
Display name (how you appear to family members)
Profile photo (optional)
Age confirmation (you must be 18+ to use Keptwell)

Content You Create (Creators only):

Memory entries (text)
Photos you attach to memories
Voice recordings you attach to memories

Family Vault Information:

Vault membership (which family vault you belong to)
Your role (Creator or Viewer)
Family relationships (how you're connected to other members)
Invitation information (emails of people you invite)

Device & Notification Data:

Device type and operating system
Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
App usage analytics (which features you use)
Crash reports to help us fix bugs

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain Keptwell's services
To allow family members to listen to your memories
To send invitation emails to family members you invite
To send you notifications about new memories from family (if enabled)
To send you daily reminders to record (if enabled)
To send you important updates about your account
To improve the app based on how people use it
To respond to your support requests

3. How We Protect Your Data

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
Data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
Memories are only accessible to members of your family vault
We use industry-standard security practices

4. Family Access & Sharing

Keptwell is designed for family sharing. When you create memories:

All members of your family vault can view your memories
Viewers (free accounts) can listen but not record
Creators (paid accounts) can record and listen
You control who gets invited to your vault
Family members cannot edit or delete your memories

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Keptwell:

Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage
RevenueCat — Subscription management
Apple App Store — App distribution and payment processing
Expo — App delivery and updates
Resend — Email delivery for invitations and notifications
Vercel — Website hosting

Each service has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
Your memories (voice recordings, photos, and text) will be permanently deleted
If other family members remain in the vault, the vault itself will be transferred to another member, but your content will be removed
If you're the only member in a vault, all vault data will be deleted

We aim to preserve family memories for at least 10 years to ensure they can be passed down through generations.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and data
Export your data
Withdraw consent at any time
Opt out of push notifications
Leave a family vault

8. Children's Privacy

Keptwell is designed for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Note: Family members under 18 may be invited as Viewers by adult family members, but they cannot create their own accounts.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through the app.
